When Christina presented for her first bladder biofeedback session, her daughter was just 2 years old.

Christina said she’d had a bladder problem with overactive bladder symptoms for a long time, but ever since her daughter was born, she was also having trouble with bladder control when she would cough or sneeze. She denied a history of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) but had a long history of urinary urgency and urinary frequency that had become worse since her daughter’s birth.

Her bladder problem was really embarrassing in the morning because she had great difficulty with her first morning toileting, barely getting to the bathroom in time. She had urinary frequency at night and had to get up to go to the bathroom 4-5 times each night.

She drank enough water to meet daily minimum requirements but on days that she worked, almost all of her daily fluid intake was done during the evening which made her frequent urination at night even worse. She regularly ate or drank a number of bladder irritants every day which may well have been related to her reported difficulty with urinary urgency and urinary frequency for many years.

Her physician told her to do Kegel exercises but Christina felt like she wasn’t getting the pelvic floor muscles so we used biofeedback to coach her through the correct way to do kegel exercises.

We also tested her diet and determined that some temporary reductions in acidic fruits would help while she retrained her bladder.

In two months her bladder problem was cured using Bladder Fitness techniques.
